This year was the year of the rat which is actually my year... but just because it's your year doesn't mean it's going to be a GREAT year. It's usually a little harder when it's your year, it's sorta like a test to represent how strong you are. Like my friend Yen who was born year of the monkey and was in 2 car accidents that year. It's usually a year to show what you are made of. Not for anything but I'm kinda glad it's almost done (In January 26) so year of the ox... I welcome you, good riddance to the rat!
I was laid off twice! thanks to the economy, first job didn't really care much for, but I really liked my second one. But it's ok, at least I got an awesome marketing/PR internship in a showroom on 39th st in NYC. I'm really looking forward to it!
I was living on my own in Harlem with such a great roommate who is now one of my best and closest friends, but I had to leave because the landlord kept raising the rent, so I couldn't afford it anymore. I now live with my mom and her boyfriend...I hated it at first because I detest relying on others, but at least I'm finally working on my relationship with my mom, and her bf is such a great guy. because of them I don't worry about how am I going to survive next week, or what am I going to eat. I'm so grateful.
Living in NY is hard. Especially with student loans... I came out here because I wanted to make something of myself, but I sorta felt like I was such an epic failure with my jobs and living situations. But when I look at it.. It was a year of progress... I learned a lot of new things about myself and character flaws that I'm working on
I feel that my shortcomings will build personality and I have a good feeling good things are going to happen this coming year.In 2008
-My boyfriend moved to NY to be with me and I'm so happy! In 09 we're going on 7 years of knowing eachother.
-I got a dog and a cat, the dog was mine and the cat was my moms, but the dog ended up being closer to my mom and the cat is closer to me LOL I never wanted the cat but now I love that lil f*cker so much!
-I was able to afford my rent and expenses and still go to 5 conventions this year!!
-I made SO MANY awesome friends this year! from work and anime conventions (DA friends, nyc anime meetup and PVN as well). My anime friends are going to make up for my family at my wedding lol when I get married wer' having a cosplay wedding reception. So if anyone wants to come.. ya gotta cosplay! XD they are like my family and I love them! If it wasn't for them I'd be so lost. I'm thankful and grateful for all the things that have happened to me in 2008, I am also grateful for the people that are in my life!
I heard that the year of the ox brings a more tranquil time. Any changes that took place last year will have brought quite a transformation into my life. I will be able to come to terms with all that has gone before, relax in the present and then decide on what I really want to do with my future. ^_^
